FACT SHEET

 

Thank you for competing in the 37th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship Qualifying.

 

SCHEDULE: You are participating in a sectional qualifier on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Minnehaha Country Club located at 3101 West 22nd Street in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The rain date is September 4th. For those not familiar with where Minnehaha Country Club is located, the best point of reference is the intersection of Kiwanis Avenue and 22nd Street.

 

FORMAT / STARTING TIMES: This is an 18-hole stroke-play competition. Please note your starting time on the enclosed pairing sheet.

 

ALLOCATION OF PLACES: This site has a field of 37 players and has been allocated two qualifying spots into the national championship. Additionally, two others from this site will be listed as alternates.

 

PRACTICE ROUND: Please call Minnehaha Country Club directly at (605) 336-1419 and identify yourself as a contestant when scheduling your practice round. The official day for a practice round is Saturday, September 2 after 2:00pm. The earliest you may call to schedule a practice time is Saturday August 26th (up to 7 days in advance). The club is offering a price of $45 for the practice round, plus $12 for access to the practice area. Riding in a cart is permitted during the practice rounds.

 

CADDIES: Minnehaha Country Club does not employ caddies, though you may provide your own. You may carry your own clubs or use a pull cart. Players must walk at all times during the stipulated round. No motorized carts may be used at the qualifier or the Championship except those approved under the ADA guidelines, which may be found at www.usga.org/champs/ada

 

ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICES: The use of electronic measuring devices is permitted. This device must measure distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
 

RANGE BALLS: The driving range will open at 7 a.m. on the day of competition. Range balls are complimentary.
